ARDEN LANE PRIMARY BEDROOM

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This cozy primary bedroom design centers around neutral colors, soft textures, and natural finishes, creating a calm and cool retreat.

As you enter, your eyes are drawn to the bone-colored walls that provide a serene backdrop. The color palette is a blend of aged denim, faded terracotta, warm grey, earthy greens, and the inviting glow of warm brass tones. These colors provide a sense of calm and balance.

The bedroom’s original wood flooring adds authenticity and warmth and is softened by a striped wool area rug in white and soft blue tones. Additional textures are introduced by the linen-wrapped dresser in a soft grey-green hue. Another hard-working piece of furniture is the vintage-inspired curiosity cabinet, which stores and showcases a curated collection of soft blankets, cozy sweaters, intricate artwork, and weathered vintage vessels. Finally, a pair of burl wood nightstands, in different sizes, balance on either side of the bed.  The selection of furnishings offer function and a unique blend of finishes to add depth to the room's character.

The centerpiece of the room is the bed, which grounds the space with its raw ironwork headboard, but serves as a striking contrast against the softness of the room's textures. The bed is dressed in Parachute's cocooning cotton bedding and layered with a collection of pillows in soft, contrasting hues. For an added layer of texture, the Phillip Jefferies seamless Kobe woven wall covering graces the wall behind the bed. This subtle yet distinct texture adds depth to the space, maximizing dimension and further enhancing the room's tactile appeal.

A petite chair, thoughtfully scaled to one of the room’s corners, offers a cozy nook for relaxing. Its warm aged leather introduces a touch of sophistication, complementing the other natural elements in the room.

Brass light fixtures with white linen shades are placed throughout the bedroom, casting a golden glow that illuminates the space both when the lights are on and off.

Classic pinstripes in black and white soften the original wood-trimmed windows of this Tudor-style home, while botanical and landscape artwork provides a touch of nature and interest to the neutral palette.

In this primary bedroom design, every element has been carefully chosen. The neutral colors, soft textures, natural finishes, and thoughtful details come together to craft a space that feels like an escape– a cozy retreat where you can truly unwind and rejuvenate.
