PARKWAY DRIVE FIRST FLOOR RENOVATION
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This kitchen is an ageless beauty, as timeless as it is functionally modern. Bright, fresh walls allow the earth toned cabinets and warm, worn hardware to set the stage for a kitchen with old world charm and updated convenience. Special selections from the homeowner include a stunning AGA range, fresh Dolomite countertops and backsplash, and custom-made counter stools from OG Studio, which shine in the details of their craftsmanship.
The custom cabinets from Arrow Cabinet Company are bathed in Farrow and Ball’s Stony Ground, a deep mushroom tone reminiscent of centuries old English cottage kitchens, but the custom paneled appliances, corner drawers, glazed uppers, and drawer dividers are signs of 21st century craftsmanship. Arrow Cabinet Company worked endlessly with these DIY homeowners to perfect each detail of the inset cabinets and their complex installation.
The wet bar is used morning and night and features a custom walnut top to match the hood mantel and handmade pantry French doors (lovingly hand built by the very talented homeowner). The bold green tile sets this nook of the kitchen apart, making it a fun destination and focal point in the otherwise muted and monochromatic space.
Green is repeated opposite the bar in the views of grasses and gardens seen through the bank of windows wrapping the lounge area where a favorite evening resting spot welcomes the family and their adventurous cat for reading, drinks and games. A vintage glass fronted cabinet found at Bloom Home Market stores cookbooks, collections, and family treasures. Ambient lighting, plants, and a perfect petite side table from Garden Style Living add special touches to make this restful spot a favorite in the house.
The over-the-top charm of the powder room is thanks to the combination of Morris & Co. wallpaper, garden hued wainscoting, and a pale-yellow ceiling. A classic console sink with striking brass legs and faucet provide ample space for freshening up and the vintage mirror and art found at Foxglove Interiors make you forget you’re in small town Pittsburgh and not in the English countryside.
